Management and Organizational Capabilities:
In addition to our surveyors and engineers, we have a dedicated administrative staff to keep the office organized and working efficiently. Our administrative staff always answers the phone during business hours. When you call our office, you are greeted by a person, not a machine. One of the tools used by all of our staff is a program written by the owner of the company called E-Zap.
E-Zap is a program developed by our firm to track clients and jobs. The software stores all correspondence electronically and links it to the appropriate job. With E-Zap, our managers can setup electronic work orders and maintain an electronic crew schedule. With this electronic schedule, everyone in the office can view the survey crew’s work schedule at a glance. With this scheduling program, our managers can make adjustments to the crew’s schedule to accommodate last-minute requests.
The survey crew uses our E-Zap crew scheduler to determine their tasks for the day. The crew may upload calculated points prior to starting the project and will meet with the project manager to review the daily tasks. On site, our crew will look for existing survey control points and monuments. The crew will tie the required monuments and run a closed traverse that will be adjusted by the professional surveyor as needed. Our crew will also complete level loops on every project where elevations are required. Our GPS equipment may be utilized,as needed,to tie into local elevation benchmarks or coordinates. Our surveying staff provides checks on all field measurements. The field staff is fully trained and maintains a high level of quality control.
After the crew completes the initial survey work, our staff will analyze the data and may send the crew out for a second time. A survey technician will work closely with the project manager to complete the required drafting and mapping for the particular project.Internal policies require all work to have at least two professionals review the maps, legal descriptions, and boundary surveys prior to leaving the office. All maps and surveys are stamped by the professional surveyor in charge.
The engineering staff complete preliminary sketches prior to starting a design and meet with the project manager to confirm the design is heading in the right direction. Plans and calculations are also reviewed again at 50% complete with the client and the project manager. Based on the comments or redline revisions, our engineering staff finalizes the plans, specifications, details, and calculations for the project. The plans and calculations are reviewed again by the project manager.
All design drawings and calculations are stamped by the professional surveyor in charge. The engineering technician also provides project management directly with our clients. This includes written correspondence on project status. The engineering technician also works with our survey department through the construction process and may provide construction inspection as needed by the jurisdiction. This gives our engineering staff great experience and also helps the construction run smoothly as they can help the contractor resolve construction-related questions in the field.
